The Still
Water Teaching Barge affords many benefits to all types
of rowing programs. The benefits this powerful
tool provides towards the a Novice Coach's ability
to reduce the anxiety level for beginners is immeasurable.
Not only can our barge do this, but it also adds to this sense of
comfort the benefits of handling an actual oar
right from the starts instead of an ergometer.
The
Barge comes in durable, easy-to-assemble sections.
Each section contains four (4) stations
and can be assembled and dismantled in the water.
This kit-like design allows for ::

•
Great Fiscal Planning:
Because our barge can be purchased in sections, there is no
need to buy an elaborate set-up all at once. The thrifty customer
could purchase sections and expand from 8 to 12 to 16 over
the course of a few seasons, which introduces a greater amount
of flexibility into any team's budget.
•
Storage: The
Barge can be disassembled and stacked out-of-the-way during
the winter months when teams tend to be innactive on the main
waterways. You can store a 43' barge with a footprint of only
12' 6" x 6', an alarmingly small amount of space! |

•
Longevity: We
know how hard novices can be on equipment. The capacity to
understand the finesse of a veteran rower hasn't yet developed.
We plan for the long term with a rugged fiberglass/epoxy skin,
and high strength Piantedosi hardware made of annodized aluminum.
The hull is coated with premium epoxy siloxane to protect
the laminate materials and modular design. Reapirs are easily
done, and do not necessitate removing the entire piece of
equipment from circulation.
•
Distinction: Our
exterior epoxy siloxane coating provides for an unlimited
color selection to match your school or club colors. Set yourself
apart from the pack and create a sense of unity amongst your
team. |
Still Water
believes you shouldn't have to sacrifice
stability for movement. Our design allows the
coach to walk along the stable deck (see photos)
for literal "hands-on" teaching, while the hull's sleek
design and light weight makes for a fast, even
ride; thus the students can feel their positive
and negative effects on hull movement.
